Scam-anforders who refuse for the wrong reasons know that they can get away with it because of amazon`s lack of interest in evaluating cases, even though dozens of people are being turned down for the wrong reasons. The only thing I don`t like about Mturk is that there seems to be little quality control over the unloaded. I have seen cases in the past where a claimant has no problems and most positive assessments suddenly start sending mass rejections to workers. Often they do not understand how Mturk works himself and uses tools and functions in the wrong way that can damage a worker`s reputation. One example is that they use the block`s user function to prevent someone from doing their job more than once. This block is a negative mark for a set of labor data and should not be used that way. The documentation of the hostel is very absent. Just last week, I had to explain to a new applicant how to pay me a bonus. Such things should be clearly highlighted. I love the opportunity to work on my days off.
I also appreciate most needs on mturk. I was part of some amazing studies and start-ups. I usually learn something every day! Ethical treatment of workers in general is a constant concern. Scientists in fields as diverse as computer linguistics and political science have written about the ethics of using crowdworkers as a university research pool or as a workforce.
